Overall, this is a great spot to put down anchor for a day or two, or three! And right nearby, Manistee itself is a great little town to explore. For our last stay in September, we used the resort as a springboard for points north: Traverse City, and the Leelanau Peninsula with its beautiful vistas and many wineries.

We have stayed at the Little River Casino Resort twice. For example, if you like to eat late (or early), The Willows restaurant offers steak and eggs from midnight to 4:00 am for $2.99! And there is a hotel package that includes a free breakfast for two. They can be a bit pricey-but not unreasonable-depending on what you order, but there are a lot of deals that will help bring down the cost. It is definitely tolerable for us overly-sensitive-to-smoke folks. There is some hint of smoke in the restaurant areas, but only a hint. The rooms would rate a AAA 3-star for sure. The rooms are in tip-top shape, clean and inviting. We had no trace of smoke in our room or the hotel corridors. There is smoking in the casino, but not in the remainder of the resort. During the week, you can get room rates as low as $59.00 just for joining the player's club. Rapids Bistro is open 24-hours a day, providing pizza, deli sandwiches, coffee, and ice cream, and has its own kitchen and storage area.Even if you are not casino people (which we are not), this is a great base for exploring northwest Michigan. The new sports bar, with local Michigan sports memorabilia and theme, offers wings, burgers, and two bars to help you enjoy the big game. The VIP lounge underwent a major renovation and houses a small bar and amazing fireplace. The buffet includes incredible desserts, hometown favorites, international flair, and sauté live cooking stations.

The food and beverage venues include a renovated buffet and VIP lounge, new 24-hour bistro, casino floor feature bar, and sports bar. The Manistee, Michigan property now has over 1,300 slot machines and dozens of table games on the gaming floor, an indoor and outdoor pool, gift shop, nearly 300 guestrooms, and full-service spa. During this renovation and expansion, the goal was to increase customer satisfaction by reconfiguring the casino floor to have better access and achieving a AAA 4 Diamond rating. This casino, owned and ran by the Little River Band of Ottawa Indians, originally opened in 1999 and underwent its first renovation in 2007.
